Fuller Age - Shore To Shore

He set sail on a cold winter morning
headed for waters where the mermaids sing
in search of a country undiscovered
so he could be king

Left home his family, his brothers and sisters,
traded his whole life for new sights to see
seagulls screaming as he boldly ventured
into uncharted territory

And the winds kept howling
with no land in sight
on and on, over seas of silence
a lonely traveler's secret delight

The sun faded as she stared at the window
downstairs, another lover went away
her hand shaking as she reached for the bottle
to push her sorrow 'til another day

"All men are the same", she thought to herself
he's just another dick, so why should she care?
There's a thousand more where this one came from,
but how come the emptiness is so hard to bear?

So it's another party
she looks so bright and cool
everyone laughed as she drunkenly staggered
and fell headfirst into the pool

"Am I delirious?", he thought to himself,
his hand grabbed something underneath the sea
and so he slowly pulled her into his vessel
a creature shrouded in mystery

Dizzy as she felt, she could not believe it
who was that man who sweetly looked at her?
How did she come to that unknown ocean
and how come her memories became so blurred?

That's when they learned the secret
of what's to be and what has been
and so together they traveled the waters,
a lonely sailor and his alien queen

Some say stories were told
about a couple who conquered a new world
by spreading love all around
through every danger, they were kept safe and sound

But even if it's untrue
or if such legends mean nothing to you
while sailing from shore to shore
they had each other and needed nothing more.
